DO YOU NEED HELP WITH STRESS! LBCC has a place for you.

HEADLINE: Need Help? LBCC Has a Place for You

Feeling the stress of finals looming over your head? Having anxiety over your grades and don’t know how you're going to improve them? There is plenty of help available on LBCC’s Albany campus. The college’s Learning Center, located above the library in Willamette Hall, has tutors for whatever field of study you might need help in. LBCC also recently added a Tech Room with someone there to help.

If you don’t know where to go once you get to the Learning Center, go to the help desk which is located against the back wall.

The Math Café, also in Willamette Hall, has excellent helpers as well as a coffee machine, charging ports to plug in your devices, and comfortable chairs and couches. There’s a tutor for almost every major for you to get help from. They even offer study skills coaching in the same area.

Maybe you’re just feeling generally stressed out and need a quiet place to relax and get back on track mentally and physically. The Learning Center has a place for that as well. It’s called, fittingly enough, the Wellness Room. This room is located in WH 220. This room has almost everything you need to relax.

To get to this room, go straight once you enter the second floor and go across to the other side of the Learning Center. There is a sign-up sheet on a clipboard hanging just outside the door. You can reserve an hour that works for you. In that hour you can do yoga – there’s a provided mat – or just sit in the massage chair for 20 minutes.

If you like, you can go another 20 minutes more. Finally, you can just lay down and close your eyes and listen to the amazing waterfall feature. They keep the lighting low and you can lock the door so your peace and quiet is not interrupted. Definitely set an alarm on your phone or watch because you would be surprised how fast an hour flies by when you finally relax.

These are just a few ways to help get you through your first term and beyond. I always suggest sitting down with your advisor for more help or just someone who is there to talk to about anything that is going on in your life. They’re there for that very reason. Don’t think there is not any help, because there is.
