                                                                        A Christmas Story          I thought I was going  to do my photo story on the Pastega Christmas Lights on display at the Benton County Fairgrounds. I went there one afternoon to take some pictures and I thought I took some good shots of all the different displays that were there. But after showing them to Professor Rob Priewe, he wanted pictures of them setting them up. I was at a loss. What was I going to do. They were all done setting up the displays.   My Lynsey Addario Book Report The Displaced-Lynsey Addario “I often openly cried during the dozens and dozens of African women, who had endured more hardship and trauma than most Westerners even read, interviewed while in DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo). I was unable to process this violence and hatred towards women I was witnessing”. (Addario, chapter7,pg148) That quote gives you a real insight into the reason Lynsey puts herself in harms way to photograph the unseen casualties of war. The Women and the Children usually pay the highest price for Men’s need for power and control. Being a Woman gave unique access to the Women in mostly Muslim countries. She photographed Women in Afghanistan and Iraq with respect. She always asked if it was okay to take their picture. She was always amazed how these Women wanted to tell their story. She didn’t just start out as a conflict photojournalist. She just happened to be in Afghanistan when 9/11 happened and since she was already there,...

My Hometown

           The College of Education building is one of the many iconic buildings on the Oregon State                                      University campus. This building as been serving OSU since 1909. Burst Candies and Watershed Fly Shop handing out candy to the Trick or Treaters that invaded downtown Corvallis on Halloween afternoon.                                    Caught this little Dragon picking out the candy he wanted                                     in front of Gretz Goldsmiths  by a worker dressed as a pirate. Fall Colors- Photographers choice

  Fall colors in the courtyard on main campus of LBCC.     Oak tree: "What's happening to me. I'm freaking out right now. How come my leaves are changing?!"     Evergreens: "He does this every fall."    My front yard on a rare sunny fall day.

                                                                  Evette Sherlock     This is Evette, looking happy after loading the Embroidery to make another run of six garments for a customer. She does the Digitizing of the logos of the customers businesses or organizations so the machines knows which color of thread and the stitch pattern to recreate whatever logo to perfection. She been working for Shirt Circuit on Ninth St. in Corvallis, Oregon for over twenty years. I known Evette since we were little kids when we were neighbors on Powell St. back in the early Seventies.
